Альма Коган — английская певица.
Происхождение[править]
Появилась на свет в семье евреев (семья отца из России, а матери — из Румынии)[1]. Имела брата Айвора и сестру Сандру Коэн, ставшую актрисой.
Образование[править]
С ранних лет любила музыку, становилась лауреатом музыкальных конкурсов.
Посещала монастырскую школу святого Иосифа в городе Рединг. Закончила «St Joseph's Convent School».
Творческий путь[править]
Карьеру певицы начала в конце 40-х (в 1949 г. ее заметил продюсер EMI Уолтер Ридли, когда она пела в отеле Cumberland, он подписал её на HMV Group) — 1-й половине 50-х.
В 1952 г. вышел её дебютный сингл.
Написала несколько собственных песен.
Вышло 5 её сольных альбомов.
Личная жизнь[править]
Утверждается, что у неё был тайный роман с Джоном Ленноном. Они познакомились в 1964 г., а до этого, как сам Джон Леннон говорил, что будучи подростком, подражал ей во время учебы в Ливерпульском колледже искусств.
Заодно намекают на её близкую дружбу с Полом Маккартни.
Ее последний роман был с Брайаном Моррисом, её единоверцем. Они были помолвлены.
Однако, Альма умерла в 34 года от рака.
Похоронена на еврейском кладбище в Буши, Хартфордшир.
