Мерфи, Нэнси












Нэнси Мерфи (англ. Nancey Murphy; [Нет даты!]) — американская женщина-философ и теолог. Известна своими работами о роли современной и постмодернистской философии в формировании христианского богословия, а также исследованиями на стыке теологии, науки, философии сознания и нейробиологии. Лауреат Темплтоновской премии (1999).

В 1973 году получила степень бакалавра искусств в Крейтонском университете (по философии и психологии). В 1980 году получила степень доктора философии в Калифорнийском университете в Беркли (по философии науки). В 1987 году получила степень доктора теологии в Высшем теологическом союзе (по теологии). Работает профессором христианской философии в Фуллеровской теологической семинарии в Пасадине (Калифорния, США).

Работы Мерфи посвящены роли современной и постмодернистской философии в формировании христианского богословия, а также отношениям между теологией и наукой. Позднее она занималась темами, связанными с философией сознания и нейробиологией. Её первая книга «Теология в эпоху научного разума» (Cornell, 1990) получила премию за выдающиеся достижения от Американской академии религии. Она является автором девяти книг, включая «Англо-американский постмодернизм: философские перспективы науки, религии и этики» (Westview, 1997) и «О моральной природе Вселенной: теология, космология и этика» (совместно с Дж. Ф. Р. Эллисом, Fortress, 1996). За последнюю работу она получила Темплтоновскую премию за прогресс в религии. Мерфи является членом совета директоров Центра теологии и естественных наук[1] (и бывшим председателем совета директоров), Американской философской ассоциации и Общества христианских философов. Мерфи работает в комитетах по планированию серии конференций о науке и божественном действии, а также о проблеме естественного зла под эгидой Ватиканской обсерватории.

В 1998 году Мерфи была признана выпускницей года Крейтонского университета, а в 2006 году — выпускницей года Высшего теологического союза. В 1999 году она стала стипендиатом Дж. К. Рассела в Центре теологии и естественных наук. Она была избрана членом Международного общества науки и религии и работает в его исполнительном комитете. В 2007 году она была включена в список 100 самых влиятельных людей по версии журнала Los Angeles Magazine. Она является рукоположённым служителем Церкви братьев.
